One of our favorite parts of scalloping is the cleaning, or shucking, of the scallops. This is when you essentially get the meat that you eat out, and you are left with 2 scallop shells. As you can imagine, it is pretty easy to accumulate a good amount of these shells. Yesterday was the all anticipated opening day for the 2020 scallop season! Our captain went out in the afternoon during low tides. When asked about the day, Capt. Gary stated " the scallops are very plentiful in shallow water, they are in the grass, you just have to dig around". As you can see by the photo, our vessels caught their limit and our guests left with a yummy dinner! We are very excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us!
