One of our favorite parts of scalloping is the cleaning, or shucking, of the scallops. This is when you essentially get the meat that you eat out, and you are left with 2 scallop shells. As you can imagine, it is pretty easy to accumulate a good amount of these shells. There are TONS of cool ways to reuse them such as nautical decor items, in flower beds, etc. Below is a video from a conservation agency in Australia that is taking it even further, and using the disregarded shells of scallops and muscles to rebuild a shell fish reef! Their campaign is called, "Shuck don't Chuck"!
